Is it time to choose your electives again? Don't fret, here's a list of the 5 easiest courses at the University of Ottawa. I wish I had a guide like this before I started University to know which were the easy A courses.

CLA 2323 Greek Mythology

Is it time to choose your electives again? Don't fret, here's a list of the easiest courses at the University of Ottawa. I wish I had a guide like this before I started University to know which were the easy A courses.

Grade Achieved: A

No prerequisite required.

This course in an introduction to greek mythology, be ready to familiarize yourself with the 12 Greek Gods. The Greek myths are the basis of many popular culture stories in modern day. I really enjoyed learning in depth, about the myths and the Greek Gods. In secondary school, we briefly learned about Greek myths but this class provides a great overview and analysis on Greek culture as well. I highly recommend taking this class with Professor David Sacks.

However, don't be fooled, CLA 1101 Greek Civilization is not an easy course...

PHI 1101 Reasoning and Critical Thinking

Grade Achieved: A

No prerequisite required.

This course is an introduction to philosophy. If you're in Telfer's Bachelor of Commerce, this is a compulsory course. If you aren't, this is an easy A elective. This course teaches you about the different argument types, logical structures and reasoning. I really enjoyed this class because it taught me about logic, philosophy, and why the way we think the way we do. I highly recommend taking this class with Professor Laura Byrne.

RUS 2104 Russian Cinema

Grade Achieved: A-

No prerequisite required.

This course studies the Russian cinema industry from the 1920s to present day. RUS 2104 studies the actors, directors, and films that were most popular during this period. Films are played during class in both English and Russian. The professor does a great job at explaining the films that aren't in English. I learned so much about the actors and directors and thoroughly enjoyed the plots of the films studied in class. I highly recommend taking this class with Professor Arkadi Klioutchanski.

MUS 2310 Music in the Movies

Grade Achieved: A+

No prerequisite required.

This course studies the music used in movies from the 1800s to present day. MUS 2310 studies the elements of sound, elements of film, as well as the different eras of films. This was such a fun class where I learned so much about the elements of sound. After this class, I noticed how movies used music to evoke emotions and feelings that I never noticed before. I highly recommend taking this class with Professor Genevieve Bazinet.

ADM 1101 Social Context of Business

Grade Achieved: A-

No prerequisite required.

This course studies the ethical responsibilities of companies and individuals in today's current business environment. ADM 1101 studies the issues of ethical management, corporate social responsibility, and strategic governance. This course is known as ADM 1301 for students in the Telfer School of Management. I highly recommend taking this class with Professor Pouya Safi.
